Many times I hear, “One day, we’ll fix this,” or “If only we could rewrite that,” or “Someone should fix this documentation.” We think one day – when we get that large and utterly imaginary stretch of uninterrupted time – that we will solve this problem
properly.
Take an hour, and make it better today. Whatever you can fit into that hour is progress: a single test, a documentation fix, the first part of a refactor. Your progress acts as momentum for yourself and others and makes the problem approachable.
So ask yourself, “what can I make better, today?”
