My career has taken a couple of turns in 30 years, turns for the better. In each case, I can point to someone who took time to invest in me. Sometimes they took the time to teach me something I needed to know. Sometimes they took the time to work with me on a project and shepard me in my career. Sometimes it was as simple as giving me an opportunity. Regardless of the specifics, these people took the time to invest in me.
All of us owe someone for helping us along the way. We need to take the time to help someone along their way.
